Longlands Cottage in Hay-on-Wye

Longlands is a beautifully secluded 3 star country cottage situated just outside Hay-on-Wye on the road to Clyro. Perfect for large groups, this versatile cottage can sleep up to 10 people. Set into the side of a hill, Longlands offers unbelievable views across the Wye valley to the Brecon Beacons and Pen y Fan Mountain in the distance; views that really need to be seen to be believed. The cottage is both child and pet friendly, making it the perfect place for walkers, family holidays or groups of friends simply looking to get away from it all.

The lovingly decorated interior gives Longlands a true ‘home from home’ feel. The open fireplace is perfect for relaxing in front of after a day walking or playing on the river, and with all the mod-cons you could possibly wish for (including central heating, Wifi, Freeview TV and DVD), it will take you no time at all to settle in. With comfy beds and furniture throughout, Longlands is the perfect place to get away from it all, whilst remaining conveniently close to the amenities that Hay-on-Wye has to offer, including great pubs and restaurants; weekly markets; local butchers, bakers and greengrocers; a spectacular deli; a supermarket; scores of antique and book shops, and of course access to the beautiful Welsh countryside.

The large barbeque outside is perfect for sunny days and evenings, and the kitchen is equipped with everything necessary to whip up anything from a riverside picnic or Sunday Roast, that can be enjoyed around the large dinning table whilst taking in the stunning views.

Longlands is a gem of a place and we had three days of pure heaven. Off the beaten track yet ideally accessible to Hay, we could easily have stayed a fortnight. The house is beautifully equipped and there are some lovely walks and river activities on your doorstep. Enjoy!” Henrietta Platt
